FAQs

Is there a bar?

We’re currently working on becoming a licensed venue. There will soon be a bar.

Is there BYO alcohol?

Hightide will soon be a licensed venue. BYO is not permitted.

Are under 18s allowed?

Hightide will soon be a licensed venue. As such, under 18s are only allowed in the venue with adult supervision. This doesn’t mean you can come and play games and let your kids run around. Preferably, they’re playing games with you.

How accessible is the venue?

The venue is very accessible. It’s on the ground floor, and we have a unisex UAT and uniambulatory bathroom.

Where can I park?

Can I bring food from outside?

You’re very welcome to bring food from outside. Please just use common sense and be respectful. A giant laksa or a tub of chocolate ice cream probably aren’t appropriate. A Vegemite sandwich is no problem at all. If you aren’t sure, just ask yourself this: “Would I want someone to eat THAT while handling my $300 MTG card?” BYO alcohol is not permitted. Soft drinks and snacks are available for purchase.

What do I need to bring? Do you have games or game pieces I can borrow?

We have lots of wargaming terrain. We also have a few communal board games, MTG Commander decks, Kill Teams, and some other resources for you to use. With all of it, it’s first in, best dressed.

Do you buy and sell MTG singles and other TCG singles?

We do sell singles, but we only buy them when our resident TCG nerds Neil and Jimmy are around (info on days/times coming soon). If you have a big collection, it’s worth contacting us beforehand to make sure we can serve you properly.
